The Canvas of Printing: Why is a Flawless Copper Plating So Important?

The Canvas of Printing: Why is a Flawless Copper Plating So Important?

A painter cannot create a masterpiece on a damaged canvas. The same is true in rotogravure. The smoother and more flawless the copper layer, which is the surface where the gravure (engraving) process will be performed, the higher the print quality will be.

We coat a layer of copper onto the steel body using the electrolysis method. But this is not a "we coated it and it's done" job. The adhesion strength of the copper to the steel, the brightness of the surface, and its homogeneity determine the overall quality of the work. If this layer is weak, the result will be a disappointment, no matter how good the gravure is.

What is Our Difference? The copper we coat is hard and as shiny as a mirror. This brightness provides the ideal surface for the gravure needle to process even the most delicate details without error. Thanks to our high winding strength, the copper does not separate from the steel; it becomes a part of it.

Remember, the quality of the print starts with the engraving, and the quality of the engraving starts with the copper. We offer you that "canvas" in its cleanest form.
